General Accident Insurance Company ( hereinafter referred to ‘ GENAC’) is committed to protecting your privacy and developing technology that gives you the most powerful and safe online experience. GENAC is committed to respecting your privacy and to complying with applicable data protection and privacy laws. This Data Privacy Statement is provided to help you understand how we may collect, use, protect, and otherwise deal with your personal information.

You acknowledge that by providing your personal information to GENAC you consent to the processing of your data in accordance with this Data Privacy Statement.   You should read this notice in conjunction with the Terms and Conditions of our various  products as well as the Terms of Use of use for our websites and our products and services. This Privacy Statement covers all businesses and entities of GENAC in which it operates.

Use of your Personal Information

GENAC collects and uses your personal information to operate  GENAC’s Web site and deliver the services you have requested. GENAC also uses your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from GENAC  and its affiliates. GENAC may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered.

GENAC does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. GENAC may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. GENAC keeps track of the Web sites and pages our customers visit within GENAC, in order to determine what GENAC’s services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising within GENAC to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.

GENAC’s  Web sites will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on GENAC or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of GENAC and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of GENAC, or the public.

GENAC will endeavor to ensure adequate commercial agreement is established with third party affiliates with respect to cloud computing services and exporting of data to countries in accordance with applicable legislation governing different territories. GENAC also ensures secure data transfers using well-known security technologies and practices to secure data from unauthorized access or interception.  However, please be aware that communications over the public Internet, such as emails/webmails, facsimile, are not secure unless they have been encrypted. Your communications may route through a number of countries before being delivered – this is the nature of the World Wide Web/Intranet. GENAC cannot accept responsibility for any unauthorised access or loss of personal information that is beyond our control.

GENAC retains data for a specific period of time required, however certain data can be retained for longer periods as required by the laws of the territory within which the specific service is operated.
Security
We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. For example, we limit access to this information to authorized employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our services.   We also engage well-known technologies including but not limited to firewalls, intrusion detection, SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), routine network vulnerability assessment and 24 x 7 monitoring of its network. Please be aware that although we endeavor to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

Use of Cookies
