| General Accident Insurance Company (Jamaica) Limited Jamaica
Limited was incorporated as a local Jamaican insurer in 1981 and the
original shareholders were General Accident Fire & Life Assurance Company (GAFLAC) and
Musson Jamaica Limited. In 1988, Phoenix of Jamaica Insurance Company was purchased and
its portfolio was merged with General Accident. Currently, the sole shareholder is Musson
Jamaica Limited.

to the prompt and efficient service on which we pride ourselves. We are solidly backed by the most financially secure Reinsurers and this contributes to our ability to honour our claims on a most timely basis.

Musson Jamaica Limited is one of the largest Jamaican conglomerates. The core company within the group, imports, exports and distributes foodstuff under the NuPak and Geddes label among several others. Other interests include Stanley Motta – a large distributor of photographic equipment, domestic appliances and large machinery for specialist commercial applications such as X-ray, surveying and microfilm. C.D. Alexander is the real estate agency and auction side of the group. Musson also participates in a variety of joint venture operations in Jamaica. Our Chairman, Mr. A. Desmond Blades, is also Chairman of Musson. A Barbadian, he came to Jamaica in the 1970s to run the Jamaican branch of Musson, which he eventually purchased. He has built it up to form not only one of the largest commercial operations in Jamaica, but the second largest food distributor. He has played a very important role in the development of Commercial Jamaica. He is past president of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce and does a lot of charity work through his involvement in United Way.
